“What that you got there,” Sandy’s mom asked?  She sat down on the bed and gently lifted the charm from Sandy’s hand.  “Hmm,…something new?”

     “It was Aunt Penny’s,”  Sandy answered.

     “In with her poetry books,”  Sandy’s mom said.  Sandy didn’t correct her.  She watched as her mother toyed with the amulet, hoping that her mom would not flip it over and notice the magical effect.  He mom let the charm go.

      “C’mon, lets get you in the shower.”
